EU Commission cuts Italy's growth forecast for 2019 to 0.1% (previous estimate 0.2%)

In its latest forecast, the European Commission said that it was now expecting the Italian economy to expand by only 0.1% in 2019 after forecasting a growth of 0.2% in the previous estimate.

The publication further revealed that the EC was expecting the public debt to rise to 133.7% of the GDP this year and 135.2% in 2020 while seeing the public deficit to rise to 2.5% and 3.5% of the GDP in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
